The Bohannon-Meyer Agency was formed in 1970 when brothers-in-law Robert Meyer and Frank Bohannon merged their established agencies into one. Current owners, Philip Meyer and William Holton joined the agency in 1978 and 1983, respectively. They are committed to keeping in tune with insurance trends and coverages. Both are Certified Insurance Counselors and regularly attend continuing education seminars to maintain the designation.

Just as the local rural landscape has changed, so has the agency’s focus.  Attention has shifted from serving farming interests to serving a more urban population. Our current book of business has become a mix of Farm Exposures, Homes and Automobiles and Business related risks. Because Phil and Bill are natives, and life-long residents of Lexington, both understand the changes that have taken place in the area. They have the unique ability to thoroughly relate to the specific needs of individuals and businesses. They recognize their clients’ desire to protect their families, homes and businesses.

Bohannon-Meyer is deeply rooted in, and committed to, the communities and citizens of Fayette, Woodford, and surrounding Counties. Both Phil and Bill live in the communities in which they serve. The staff prides itself on a friendly, personal touch. During business hours the telephone is answered by a person, NOT a machine. Every attempt is made to give clients the same respect and dedication to service on which the agency was built. We routinely shop the insurance marketplace for the most competitive insurance program for existing clients and referrals.
